Our First Market Day!

This past Saturday, all our work had come to fruition. Months of testing recipes, working out ingredient sourcing, portioning, pricing - all of it - had brought us to the day when we could finally bring our treats to the community! After two days of baking, we packed up our Cambro boxes early Saturday morning with a dozen different cakes, pies, bars, and cookies, and hopped in an Uber to the Rotterdamse Oogstmarkt in Noordplein. R’damse Oogst is a wonderful market that focuses on locally sourced and produced groceries and ready-to-eat foods, and has a great commitment to the community and to the environment. After visiting the many, many neighborhood markets throughout Rotterdam, we instantly fell in love with the mission and overall vibe here, and were thrilled to accept an invitation to debut with the incredible team at the Oogstmarkt.

For our first introduction to the market, we wanted to put our best foot forward, with a diverse set of treats that best communicated our quality, range, and vision. We brought two cakes - Hummingbird and Vegan Texas Sheet. We brought our incredible Kentucky Pecan Pie. For bars, we brought out our Billionaire bars, “Old Fashioned” Brownie, Rico’s Vegan Tropical Bars, and of course our St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake. We brought our Chocolate Chunk Cookies, and for our savory treats (or at least, less sweet…) we had our Jalapeno-Cheddar Cornbread Muffins, Vegan Cranberry-Walnut Muffins, as well as both Cheddar-Scallion and Feta-Basil-Sundried Tomato Drop Biscuits. It was a great reception, and it was very exciting to see people’s reactions to tasting our products!

We are already confirmed for the next two market days on October 22 and 29, from 10am-5pm at Noordplein, Rotterdam, and are excited to bring out some new recipes we have been working on!
